I met her in Sierra Leone in 2020. She was so still, watching us as we watched the masquerade. Something about her stillness spoke to me and I asked if I could photograph her. This year it felt like the time to paint her. The adinkra symbol, Nyame Dua - the presence and protection of God - is worked throughout the painting.
