This painting is a part of my Saints and Angels series. Ifetayo is a midwife, a mentor, a doula, an educator and a healer. Her sea island home is a sanctuary and an educational center. And she's also my friend. This original is acrylic, gold leaf and hand-painted paper on 12" x 12" board. It's cradled in a hand-built and painted wooden frame. The symbols behind her represent peace.
