The quote in the painting is: "We have flown the air like birds and swum the sea like fishes but have yet to learn the simple act of walking the earth like brothers."The original mixed media piece on wood panel was created in 2013 in honor of The March on Washington. When I was a little girl my mom had an LP of that speeches that day and I would play it on the stereo in the living room. I can still hear it. This piece is available as a print.
