Mosaic in the Trees with Titmouse
I have bird feeders in my yard. The birds are used to me being in the yard and will come to the feeders even when I'm nearby. I think the Tufted Titmouse is one of the cutest birds in the yard. When I cleaned out this bottle gourd I really liked how the inside looked, so i decided not to stitch into it. Instead I made a home for a titmouse! The outside is covered with many, many, MANY pieces of hand-painted and hand-cut papers. The nest inside is made with paper, a curved branch trimmed from my crepe myrtle last year, straw and real leaves. The eggs are clay. And Mr. Titmouse is paper mache and wire. On the top is a turquoise, just because it was pretty!
12" tall by 7" in diameter.
