It's her face I'm drawn to first. Something about her expression says she's heard all his songs many times, knows every joke he's ever told and decades worth of tales and she will never grow tired of them. I like her pink house dress which looks like every house dress my Grandma ever wore, and her gray soft hair, plaited on her head. And then there he is, singing and joking and full of joy. He's got his guitar tuned just the way he likes it and as long as we listen, he'll play. The original is an 18" x 18" oil on board and is in the collection of a collector on Pawleys Island, SC.
