I dreamed this one. I'd been sitting with the gourd after I cleaned it and wasn't sure what to do with it. I woke up with a vague memory of a dream and while I was doing my morning journaling I saw the face peeking out of the gourd. So, out to the studio I went and began sculpting a face. I liked the way the outside of the gourd looked so I decided against painting it. The leaves and flowers are made with wire and hand-painted papers. The stitching is intentionally "homely" in that I wanted it to have a sense of comfort.
